Just Don’t Bug Them

Hi Everyone

It’s essential when you send out your email campaigns you
make it important and relevant to your customer.

Just don’t bug them with any old email.

I mean come on…

just because you think it’s email contact time again  – sending out an email should still be worthwhile and prosperous for your clients.

I crafted a campaign for my good friend and client Victor Little, early June,
to take advantage of the end of the financial year.

It didn’t need to be sent then but it gives us
what I call, ‘a valid reason‘ in timing.

The campaign was a success from only 3 emails.  Yes 3 emails.

Many people would have given up after sending one email
if they saw the sales results.

Some may have sent out 2 emails

but…

only a few percent would have had the courage to keep going.

Victor did and after 3 emails, using different subject titles

well…let’s just say,

Victor knows the value of belief.

If you truly have a product and service you believe
your clients should have then eventually your clients will too.

Email Marketing or Twitter?

Hi Everyone

It’s been a strange world for me recently.

You see I have been holding off email campaigns and experimenting with Twitter.

It’s not that I am moving away from Email Marketing, that is NEVER going to happen.  It’s just that Twitter has been a big part of my life for 12 months so I thought I would discover how responsive people are.

Now here is the big difference for me.

Twitter is a great tool to stay in touch and let your friends know about what’s happening in your universe.  Twitter is a great tool to discover what others are doing as well.  The care you need to take with Twitter though is limiting the number of people you ‘follow’.

I have a few select people, I follow on Twitter – not to say I don’t care about others; it is just a way I can manage my time better.

I receive many notices about people following me and I peruse each Twitter person’s site to see how they can add value to my day or my clients’ day.  If I can’t immediately see this I choose not to follow them.

This is a vital part of Twitter – CHOOSE who you wish to follow carefully.  Do not clutter up your day by allowing non-progressive messages to distract you.

The major draw back from an email marketer’s viewpoint about Twitter is you cannot see the stats on who read your Tweet or who has clicked on a link you my have provided.

The major benefit I can see from Twitter is I can see immediately what the people I am following on Twitter are doing.  This is important to me as it is immediate up to date information which may be vital.  Tweets can be received via your computer or phone which is another major bounus.

Ok, now then that’s Twitter.

Well nearly.  I friend of mine said the other day, “I don’t get it !  I don’t wish to know what somebody had for breakfast !”

My answer was…

“Neither do I.  I don’t follow anyone who is using Twitter that way.  I only follow who are adding value to my day.”

And this is the important point.

Let me explain further…

Martha Stewart was interviewed a few weeks ago and responded to the interviewer, “Yes, I am on Twitter. I think I have about 500,000 followers.”

“We were doing a book signing in Chicago and sent out a Tweet to let my ‘followers’ know what book store and when I would be there.  When we arrived there were people lined up for blocks.”

Do you see the POWER of Twitter – NO advertsing nor marketing campaign could have been as so powerful as sending only 140 characters out over the internet and mobile phone system, just a like SMS.
