1. Set a Goal or End Result you are looking to achieve in a campaign.
It’s crucial to know what you are setting out to achieve.
Know why you are sending out your emails and make sure
every message is aligned to this end goal.
2. Plan and Create steps along the way to achieve the Goal.
I use a Step Diagram for myself and my clients. This is a
systematic tool I have created which chronologically steps each
email message in the campaign with all emails focussed on
achieving Point 1.
3. Segment your email lists.
I recommend this as a crucial element in email marketing. I have
one client who has established 44 separate and different email lists.
They can now send targeted messages direct to each list if they desire.
4. Create Headlines that scream out to your customers – “Open Me”.
The success and end result of your email campaign will be
dependant whether the email is opened in the first place.
Learn, gather, test different headlines which will compel your recipients to
open and see what you have in store for them.
5. Be consistent and persistent.
Email marketing is about sending relevant messages to your lists.
Not everyone will want every message you send. Don’t be put off by
a few people who may unsubscribe. They probably were never going to
seek your help assistance anyway.
Follow these five points and watch your lists grow.
