The Second Most Asked Email Question I Get Is…

I just love getting replies to my emails from people wanting a little more.

65% of people ask ‘How Often ?’ should I send emails.

I answered this in a previous email this week.
Here’s a link where I placed it on my Blog in case you missed it.
“How Often Should I Email My Clients ?”

The next most popular question is…

Drum roll please.

“When Should I Send Emails ?”

Now on the surface this question may appear to be the same as How Often but to the trained email marketer it is completely different.

Let me explain…

How Often refers to the number of emails.  And this will depend on the campaign and the message.

‘When To Send’ refers to the timing of the day, week, and would also include the hour.

For instance…

You need to know your clients, audience and recipients to determine when.

Many internet gurus will tell you Tuesday because the inboxes are less busy.

But the reality is you can never be sure unless you test different timeslots.

There is another way to determine “When To Send Your Emails” and that is when there is something topical and relevant you can hook into.

For instance in Australia we have a few events going on.

Sporting wise there are:

  • The Australian Tennis Open;
  • The Asian Football Cup;
  • The Big Bash Cricket League;
  • The Tour Down Under Cycling;
  • and many more.

Seasonally we have:

  • Australia Day;
  • Back To School; and
  • Summer.

Coming soon is:

  • Valentine’s Day.  A major retail sales day in Australia.

Any one of these or a combination will work wonders for your email marketing if you put your mind to it.
