“One Email = $5,520”

Just now I am sitting at my desk creating emails for customers and the phone starts ringing.

I could see it was from one my best clients in Melbourne.  I call him a client but reality is over the years he has also become a very good friend.  (This happens when you work closely with people.) 

So I answered it.  This is what I do for clients.  I drop everything to listen to them.  Unlike other marketing guys, when your phone number is in my phone I will answer your call.  Always have, always will.

Well I could tell he was very excited.  His voice was beaming.

In a most entertaining and vibrant tone he spurted out he had made his first sale from his first email in 2013. 

That’s right.  Email One for 2013 = Success.

I said, “Mate…that’s fantastic. How much was the sale ?”

He replied in an exhilarating manner, “$5,520.”

I replied, “Congratulations.  You sound pretty pumped about it.”

He said, “Yes, I am.  It is not so much the amount of the sale but who it was from.”

He continued, “This sale came from a ‘new buyer’.”  “A person who has been getting my emails for many years and finally took the plunge and bought.”

In fact he said to my me, “Hey, I have been getting your emails for years now, I might as well buy something !” 

There was a hush over the phone and then my client said, “And yes, the order was $5,520 but we were able to have a great chat and there is bound to be more sales from him again soon.  How good is that !”

My answer, “The credit goes to you for your persistence.  Many people give up on non-buyers.  Especially if they don’t use email to market.”

This is a good new story so early in 2013.

You see , email is a cost effective and affordable way of getting your message out to your crowd.  Even after many years if your message is relevant people may still buy.
