How To Plan A Series Of Emails

It is always easy for someone experienced in a skill to tell you

“Just do this…”

It is easy for them, they know how to do it.

This very same thing happened to me last week when Rob from Flemington emailed me and said, “Emailing may be easy for you Kurt but I have no idea what to write to my customers about.”

You see, Rob wanted to write emails but didn’t know where to start.

So in this article on Autoresponders I am going to pull back the curtains and reveal to you my secret Emailing Step Diagram to help you plan a series of emails yourself.

A plan so secret that you will not want to share this with anyone in case your competitors find out and use it against you.

A secret normally only revealed on the death bed of a dying aunt.

A secret…

Ah, what balderdash !

There is no real curtain, no real secret, there is only just…

Common sense.

So here is my common sense approach to planning your email series.

First you are going to need a End Goal or Vision.

A Vision is just a Target you are aiming to achieve from emailing to your customers.

• It could be to tell them about new products or services;
• It could be to invite them to an event;
• It could be to to inform them how to use a certain product.
It doesn’t really matter but…

You do need to have a Vision or an End Goal.

Once you decide on the End Goal it is a matter of deciding how many emails will be in the series and in what order you will send them.

What I mean by this is…

Break down your End Goal/Target into sizable chunks which I call milestones.
Each milestone becomes ONE email.

And in emailing marketing it is crucial to know…
One Email = One Message.

So once you know your End Goal/Target and how many milestones (steps) there are to achieve this you can then plan how many emails to write.

Simple. basic stuff – if you know how.

To help here is the Email Marketing Step Diagram which I use to formulate email marketing plans.

This diagram will help you decide, in chronological order how many Milestones (emails) there are in your email series.

You could write four, five , seven it doesn’t really matter.

You choose how many emails to write from what makes sense to you to achieve your target.

And recapping what I wrote last week.

Set the interval between each email inside your autoresponder automatically which means you write the emails, load them up into an autoresponder and set the timing.

Then…

Sit back and relax and let automation take over your life.

Email marketing has proven to be the most cost effective and powerful means of marketing a business can do.
