Do You Send Emails ?

I’m just writing this post to see if you are grappling with making money from your email campaigns?


Are you grappling with getting people to respond to the emails you send?

A recent survey by Marketing Sherpa discovered most businesses send only:

  • Welcome;
  • Thank you; and
  • Transactional emails.

And only around one quarter of businesses engage in any meaningful, relationship building campaigns.

The answer is simply to engage an autoresponder system where you can send emails over a period of time automatically.

To understand this tactic let’s look at Amazon, arguably the world’s greatest on-line retailer.  After you have bought from Amazon they will continue to send you emails based on your buying patterns.  These are spaced in time yet you are guaranteed to get them.

This is called ‘segmentation marketing’.  They know what you have bought in the past and they have a pretty good hunch you will buy a similar product in the future.

It is more than a hunch though.  You see when a person enters a market they tend to seek out further products and services within that market.

So what does this mean to you?

It means once you have won a customer (remember the Ladder Of Loyalty) then create a series of emails which you can automate and send out via an autoresponder program.

This series of emails should be related to their purchase or to their inquiry.

Here’s an example…

What they could further do in their marketing campaigns is to send emails about:

  • How to care for the gown;
  • How to ensure it keeps its shape; and
  • How easily it could be transformed for another occasion if needed.
